WHAT IS A MUSIC VIDEO? 🎦
- a video which accompanies a song
- visual aspect of the song
- often includes performance
- provides the audience with another level of entertainment
- promotes the music and makes it easy to share
- advert for a song
- looks how a song sounds

Music is important as people identify with it much more than other media products

Uses and Gratifications of music:
- liking the artists
- entertainment to pass the time
- to represent certain emotions

  • No correlation to the lyrics, which forms a binary opposition
  • Very awkward, restricted dance moves
  • Slow zoom is used 
  • Quite experimental
  • A lot of the settings were considered edgy and cool 
  • Mise-en-scene is very typical of the time such as the dresses
